A Norman Robbins farce with a fearsome mother-in-law, Boadicea Heptinstall, originally written for Peggy Mount, a drag artist called Hilary and a vicar the Rev. Nookey, was the choice of the group this time round. After initially setting the plot and the characters, the laughs came thick and fast.Ian Stephenson successfully held the pivotal role of the maligned husband Albert. He was ably supported by his wife Heather Boulby and Amanda Gill as the artist who needed to enter an important competition by painting a portait of Albert, in the nude!! Gary Wilmott and David Lightfoot contributed to the general confusion and Jane Fellowes, while not having the physique of Peggy Mount, commanded the proceedings. The Director and cast are to be congratulated on the visual comedy achieved on a small stage with complications to cope with backstage which the audience is not aware of. Well done.
