~~This intimate little drama tells the story of three siblings who return to their recently deceased mother’s home to discuss their mother’s will including sharing the house and content, each explaining the sentiment around the content they prefer to have.
The script takes a while to take off with a lengthy opening eventually gaining momentum when the siblings get a shock as their father unexpectedly turns up. Charles Hatfield plays their father “David” who in a roundabout way implies that the house in fact belongs to him and they won’t be getting a share!
Good performances from Sam Evans as “Howard”, Rebecca Holmes as “Frances” and Nicola Dolphin Brown as “Rachel” who continue to question their father’s story but there were times when I felt that a little more could have been made of the more humorous moments in the story.
The introduction of David Brown as Rachel’s effervescent husband “Colin”, liven things up considerably, as he does take full advantage of the comedy with some excellent delivery when he constantly interrupts with slap stick moments, even at one point when he attempts to repair a lawn mower in mid conversation!
The Fellowship Players continue to amaze me with their imaginative stage sets and props and once again they didn’t disappoint, together with good lighting added to another fine performance.
