This comedy-thriller by Norman Robbins is set in the home of the deadly Tomb family, Monument House, and continues the story of the murderous Tombs. It proved to be both entertaining and engaging - trying to work out who was doing what to whom and who would turn out to be the villain of the piece. With a.fairly large cast of disparate characters there were plenty of likely miscreants.

Each one of the cast managed to give their characters good definition and there was a nice mix of seasoned actors with the addition of some new faces who all made positive contributions to the on stage action with some good interaction between them.

The action begins with two of the remaining Tombs, Drusilla (Alison Baldwin) and Hecuba (Di Wyman), who, while not the best of friends, are united in their desire to preserve the family secrets and to open up the house as a health farm. They are not best pleased to find themselves beset by unwelcome guests who all appear to find themselves stranded at the remote house - each having (it would seem) their own agendas to pursue.

After a slightly slow start (I put that down to 'setting the scene') the action took off  and maintained a good pace throughout, which I feel is an essential part of the delivery of this genre of play. The action then built nicely to the final denouement. Tricia Nichols had managed her cast well.

The setting of Monument House, lighting and sound all served their purpose. The audience was treated to an interesting evening trying to follow the twists and turns  in the plot which did hold the attention throughout - a lightheatred night of intrigue and mystery. Thank you for inviting me.
