Rumbustious from the start, this panto took up a familiar story with its larger than life characters, added some twists, puns and created a great evening's entertainment. The principal characters had the smallest members of the audience (and adults too) cheering and booing. Carla Reid played Peter Pan as an engaging scamp who revelled in his lack of responsibility while Emma Byrne as Wendy countered this well in her responsible attitude to her brothers and The Lost Boys. Wendy and Myrtle the Mermaid, Lucy King, charmed with their singing. Kirsten Millar as Tiger Lily was funny, confident and engaging in her role as pantomime dame, Captain Hook played by Finlay Reynolds was suitably wicked and Celine Beveridge as Tinkerbell attracted and repelled as the difficult friend of Peter Pan. Smee played by Hannah Johnston gave an assured performance as the friendly and amusing sidekick of Hook and was well supported by Esme Weir as Starkey.. All these youngsters, of 17 years old and under, worked their audience well. The minor principals, The Lost Boys, and chorus of Indians and Mermaids all looked and acted theit parts. Costumes were colourful and apt.  Movement was well choreographed from the opening dance of Indians onwards. Technically, Peter, Wendy and Hook took well to the art of flying up and down and across the stage in harness, while the expert tuition in sword fighting paid off with realistic clashes between Peter and Hook. Especially engaging were Nana the dog and the wonderful, tail-waving, menacing crocodile. The fluorescent scene 'Under The Sea'  as well as the rest of the scenery successfully carried the audience to Never Never Land. Well done to all.
