If enthusiasm could be bottled then Script Youth’s would be overflowing.
This was a fun production from start to finish and you could tell that all of the cast were enjoying their selves. The junior members of the society really put everything they had into this performance.
The company were led by Arlo Conway-Ford as Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up. Arlo gave a strong performance and was well supported by Effie Jobling as Wendy, together with Frankie Donohoe as John and Mae Gregory-Martin as Michael. Lola Weir-Phillips gave a good performance as Mrs. Darling and the villain Hook, as did Francesca Roberts as Tiger Lily. Special mention must go to Kitty Scrivens as Nana who kept in character throughout the production.
I loved the crocodile when he came rolling on, very inventive.
What with The Darling family, the Lost Boys, Pirates and the Brave Girls the stage was pretty busy, but, it was so good to see so many young people on stage.
The chorus worked well and interacted well together. Also it was nice not to hear the prompt. The young team just carried on and told the story.
All in all this was a good production. So ok, some of the singing was not at it’s best, but, we all have to start somewhere and with the dedication of the committee and production team you could not pick a better place to start.
Congratulations to all of the cast and crew and especially the production team who sometimes get missed off the reviews.
