This was to be my introduction to Peter Pan in Pantomime but I had no doubt that I would be thoroughly entertained. By accommodating a very large group  of  talented children it must have been difficult for  the production team to chose their principal cast. Our introduction to Michael Jackson's “I'm Bad” by 'Hook', worked well and was comfortably played by (Craig Rosie). Pirates, Skylights (Daisy Young) and Checko (Katie Dyson) were great lively support throughout. Uppity 'Starkey' the Boatswain suited (Mak Wilson) superbly, keeping a proper haughty accent while the role of 'Smee' was excellently portrayed by (Michael Doogan) who had also perfected a West Country accent for his role.

'Laughing Water' (Campbell McNeil) was comical in character and costume, and along with Smee and some Indian support drew the audience out of their seats to join in Wigwam Bam. The Introduction to The Lost Boys and particularly 'Trump' (Jack Richie) was hilarious. The touching link with The Rainbow Connection song, The Lost Boys and finally The Darling family was really thoughtful. The huge title role of 'Peter Pan' was very well played by (Brooke Heary)  and the cutest little 'Tinker Bell' was perfectly suited to (Hannah Combe). The sparkling light show during Tinker Bell's Firefly song and dance with the fairies worked brilliantly. The Darling Family was led by (Kirsty Doogan) as 'Mrs Darling' and in the super-cuddly 'Nana' hid (Allison Flockhart). The adventurous children, 'Wendy' (Ailsa Landels), 'John' (Archie Bogle) and 'Michael' (Max McNeil) magically flew to Neverland where Wendy took on her motherly role and ended the first act with a bedtime story about “Her House”. All the Indians were animated and colourful and very ably led by a wonderfully costumed 'Tiger Lily' (Karen Short). From forest to pirate ship the action and songs kept the audience fully entertained with We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions. The evening flew by all too quickly with two final songs Tonight We Are Young and Stay Close to Me, getting the audience joining in too. Well done the two finale soloists.
