I would imagine everyone knows the magical story of Peter Pan, the boy who never grows up, and his adventures with John, Wendy and Michael Darling plus his battles with Captain Hook and his gang of Pirates, well this show certainly was magical of the very best kind.

In the title role of Peter Pan was another “boy” who never seems to grow up, Matt Roddis. Matt oozed with magic, enthusiasm and pure talent to bring this character to life, not only did he fly across the stage, he did back flips and summersaults all to the excitement of the almost capacity audience.

When Peter goes on his adventures to Neverland he takes with him the three children mentioned above who also gave sterling performances. In the role of Wendy Ciara Stothard almost stole the show, she was a true performer, singing, acting and dancing her heart out. Joining Ciara was Jack Felvus  as John Darling and Darcy Beech  as Michael Darling, both these were excellent to say the least, all three joining Peter flying across and up and down the stage.

This production starts with the Storyteller who enters the stage periodically throughout to give updates, this role was given to Georgia Collins and I can understand why, she had the perfect voice and stage presence for this and when she was joined by Mrs Darling played to perfection by Beth Atkin she was able to prove her great singing talents in Just Home. I mentioned Beth Atkin and she certainly excelled herself in her talents none more so than when she sang Just Beyond the Stars, it was magical.

We cannot have a Mrs Darling without a Mr Darling and this onerous task was in the more than capable hands of Rob Cannon who not only played this part but also the part of Capt. Hook equally brilliant.

Rob was joined on stage by his sidekick Smee played like a true professional by Daniel Fenwick; he had the audience in stitches with his comedic timings, excellent.

Completing the line up of principals was Amelia Depledge as Tiger Lily, only a small part but one which Amelia was able to make her presence known.

Add to all the principals a great chorus of lost boys and pirates and all the ingredients were in place to produce a fantastic show.

Many congratulations to all involved.
