The severe wind conditions outside meant that my flight through the night sky via the Second Star to the Right resulted in my landing in Never Land safely. Once there I met up with the Lost Boys, Pirates, Red Indians, and I caught up with my childhood memories. This famous tale is loved by people of all ages and this show did not disappoint. The cast is performed mainly by youngsters and the two people playing Peter Pan and Wendy were both absolutely outstanding. Carmen Teppett was a boyish looking Peter and her agility and athleticism added much to her performance. Wendy (Ellie Anderson) made a perfect partner playing her role with great sincerity. For people so young, both had great strong singing voices to cope with the demands of the musical numbers. The other Darling family children adding their charming contribution to this magical tale were John (Lewis Thompson) and Michael (Scott Morgan), none of who put a foot wrong all night. The children’s nanny, the loveable Nana the Dog, was superbly played by Heather Malloch – and how I loved the dog singing (howling!) when the family was reunited after their adventures. The concerned Mrs Darling was gently played by Gwen Teppett and Paul McGregor was Mr Darling exasperated with family chores. In true tradition, he then became the evil and dastardly Captain Hook, snarling at all around him, but fearful of the Crocodile with the ticking clock. The difficult flying scene was superbly achieved and, thanks to brilliant projection, the actual Darling Children flew over the rooftops of London and landed in Never Land - it was pure dead brilliant! Fairy Tinkerbell (Genevieve Jagger) was always impetuous, but when she drank the poison meant for Peter, we all rallied round, cheered, and clapped like mad, to confirm that we all believed in fairies! All great fun.
