Ellie Hupton in her directorial debut pulled together the different aspects of the production with skill: presumably her own adaptation from J.M.Barrie from the conversation after the show. No corruption of the story and definitely not a pantomime.

The children showed talent and thought and improvisation in their realisations of the different roles.  I must particularly commend Kimberley Steers as a delightful warm Wendy and Lily Highton as a dynamic Peter Pan for their commitment to the parts and excellent combination and reactions to each other and the story.  I loved the Tinkerbell from Cora St John Cooper, a bundle of energy.  Well supported by all the other roles played by the children as family and lost boys, and how excellent to encourage and develop these skills and enthusiasms for the future of theatre.

The adult roles were played with style, as expected from this experienced group, the story really came through from Darling Household, through the Pirates, and the Indians, and of course the Captain Hook of Meryl Anderson.

The sets looked very good, so perfect for the piece, but extremely complex to change on the small stage. However we enjoyed the folk singing from Joanne and Ashley Ling to cover the long changes.

An evening of magic and a familiar story re-remembered, and how good for the village.
