Well, my first visit to the Palladium Theatre in Millom and what a surprise I got when I entered this lovely theatre how big it actually was. I was greeted by Diane Vernon, and she explained to me some of the history of the building. Diane then introduced me to Barry Vernon who does the sound for the group, and he took me on a tour of the theatre. I could tell by listening to the both of them how much passion they have for the theatre and the group, and I think Millom are so lucky to have people like these in their theatre group.

The show was Produced by Trevor Mossop and Melanie Sherwood and may I say, you both got the casting right. At every show I also observe the audience for their reactions and the energy from them was so loud which tells me how much they were enjoying it.

Anyways Peter Pan, we all know the story about a boy who never grew up living in never land and so on.

The opening number was full of energy with loud voices and beautiful smiles from the ensemble and this grabbed the audience’s attention from the very start.

Amber Lupton playing John Darling did so with conviction and full of confidence. Her mannerism on stage was very good as was Florence Tyson playing Micheal Darling.

Leah Wilkinson playing Wendy Darling Sang so beautifully and was really convincing in this role.

The dame Liza, the Darlings Cook, played by Richard Warburton had the audience in fits of laughter as he always engaged with them at every opportunity he could.

I was waiting in anticipation for Peter Pan played by Emily Sherwood and her presence on stage was very good speaking loud and clear, but I must mention her dancing which had the audience appreciating how much hard work must have gone into these routines.

Livvi Kershaw playing Tinkerbell convinced us all she really did have magic dust as I think she must have sprinkled some on herself with her nice performance.

Now as in every Panto we must have a baddie, and this role was Captain Hook played by David Powell. As soon as he walked on stage, he had the audience booing him and this continued to the very end of the panto. Going off stage to hisses and boos knows you have achieved what you needed to do with the audience. Well done.

Smee played by Shelly Dixon and Starkey played by Melanie Sherwood added a touch of badness but then we saw the nice side of them, very funny and a great pairing.

Sound by Barry Vernon and Lighting by Paul Ferguson (mind the pun) was spot on, especially sound as there was sixteen microphones being used and not one hiccup.

Choreography by Melanie Sherwood was performed with high energy and was a joy to watch.

I must mention the set as it looked very good from the audience so well done to all of the stage crew.

As I say I cannot mention everybody, but I would like to say how well you all did and I cannot wait to see your next show.
