Adapted by John Barry from J.M.Barrie's famous story, this panto was most exciting and full of fun. The chorus singing was a notable feature with plenty of good harmony, although at times the diction was not too clear. An excellent line-up of principals led by Ruth Colclough in the title role ensured slick telling of the tale. Unusually, Tiger Lily was the Dame played with relish by Kristian Denman with Kevin Pattenden as the dastardly Capt. Hook. Beth White was a delightful Wendy with Claire Fearn playing Myrtle, the mermaid. Full marks to Sarah Mitchell [Tinkerbell], who wore roller-blades the whole time....and even danced wearing them. The choreography was excellent with quite a lot of variety in the routines by the  Staples School of Dance. Although the four-piece band played very well I felt at times they were a tad too loud. The choice of songs for this production was very interesting. I particularly enjoyed Tinkerbell's rendition of 'On My Own'. The back cloths and scenery were excellent with a good lighting plot and realistic sound effects. Congratulations to the ladies responsible for the costumes which were delightful. This was a great evening's entertainment.
