Kidderminster Operatic & Operatic Society Pardon Me, Prime Minister The curtain opened on a superb set of the Prime Minsters office, designed andconstructed by Members of KODS. The set needed to be robust to withstand the pace and force of the doors being thrown open and shut as the various characters rushed in and out of the office. Nigel Preece ( The Rt Hon George Venables MP) was superb in the major role and led an eight strong cast which was excellently directed by Pat Scully. Each character was well defined and obviously enjoyed their roles as much as the audience. It was a ‘laugh a minute Production’ with a plot too complex to remember except it involved all the characters, either having had an affair or trying to have one. Needless to say the Prime Minister was involved with Dora Springer (played by Jill Parmenter with a lovely East End accent ) many years before, at a political party conference and now had to face the consequences when his (maybe ) daughter turned up unexpectantly. The audience revelled in the unfolding of the plot as the laugh a minute farce ended satisfactorily. This was certainly the funniest play I have seen for a long time.
