Pajama Game

The scenery for this show was kept to a sensible minimum ensuring a reasonable amount of space for movement on stage. Congratulations to the stage staff for their slick scene changes and also to those responsible for the excellent costumes. A competent line-up of principals and supportive chorus members ensured the story of an impending strike at the Sleep-Tite factory was easily told. Andrew Dawson [Sid Sorokin] and Kate Fenn [Babe Williams] were ideally matched; Steve Abbott played a delightful cameo as Babe's father, Pop, and Julie Leaning's portrayal of Mabel was very impressive. The singing throughout was strong and tuneful and the band's accompaniment was good. The audience appreciated the moments of sheer comedy alongside the cut and thrust of big business together with romantic interludes. An enjoyable evening's entertainment.
