The show features popular songs from the band Madness, and gives its name to one of their popular hit singles, "Our House". Through the Madness music and the story written by Tim Firth, it covers themes of love, family values, growing up, responsibility and dealing with losing the people that shape us. This is the second time I have seen Matthew Coulter play the highly demanding dual role of the good Joe and bad Joe Casey and again he provided an outstanding performance. Vikki Downie brilliantly supported him as the girl of his dreams as Sarah with great performances provided by Norah Taylor, Joe’s Mum, Francis Thorpe Joe’s Dad and a number of talented principals too many to mention. This was a team effort and it was clear that everyone on stage was having a blast and all must be commended for sustaining high energy levels and enthusiasm from start to finish. The choreography was sharp and slick, the singing had plenty of attack with great stage direction provided from the Director and all other members of the production team. At times the band was fairly strong in particular under dialogue but that aside it remained very tight. The only thing wrong with this show was the disappointing support from the local community and it was ‘Madness’ that they missed this marvellous show. Well done!!
