Thank you, Kentish Opera, for inviting me once again. I travelled to Chiddingstone Castle to witness Kentish Opera’s ‘Opera at the Castle’ - by now an annual event. Chiddingstone Castle is a wonderful venue, the weather was great, the opera was great, but the flight path wasn’t good to them. It didn’t deter Robyn Sevastos the Music Director - Robyn carried on regardless, well done to her. The evening was filled with opera segments and a good choice of solo and choral numbers. Director Stephen Brown directed his cast so that everyone was seen and heard. Also, Robyn’s orchestra added to the excellence of the evening. Soloists Stefanie Kemball-Read, Felicity Buckland, Giles Davies and Jonathon Cooke each gave us excellent performances. These soloists were backed up by the glorious sound of the Kentish Opera’s chorus. The award-winning Kentish Opera certainly know how to please their audiences with a great evening of Opera at Chiddingstone Castle and in the past their Operas at The Stage Theatre Sevenoaks.
Thank you for another splendid evening at the Orangery Chiddingstone.
