At the start of this production the audience were informed that due to illness Mother Peter would be played by the director, Margaret Jeffcoat and how well she played the role. The play is set in and round a Convert in North Birmingham in 1956 and is seen through the eyes of the 15-year-old schoolgirls. This was a fun play with some many lighthearted moments. I especially enjoyed, as did the audience the sex education lesson led by Mother Basil, (Freda Simpson). The sets were plain, but simple and the lighting good. Mary McGinity (Carol Grice) and Father Millarkey (Lee Tregellis) really played their parts well and had the audience laughing out loud. Well done to Circle Players. Another hit.
