As the progrramme cover announced: "EODS Youth Productions Proudly Present" - and this company should be very proud indeed of this production. The audiences were treated to all the pathos and jollity that this show has to offer and I'm pretty sure that Dickens would have approved as well! All the workhouse boys and girls performed very well indeed and Lewis Daynes was a delightful Oliver with a lovely singing voice and acting to match. All the principals were well cast - so many excellent characters in this show to play with, eg the Artful Dodger, played by Joel Riddington - very cheeky and Fagin played by Corey Hennelly who really excelled in this part. Nancy (Hayley Huggett) and Bill Sykes (Harvey Laing) also gave great performances well beyond their years. All those on stage gave of their very best and the Band were a great accompaniment to the action and were never too loud for the young singers. Set and lighting worked very well, together with costumes, makeup and props. The programme was well planned and made a very interesting read. Congratulations to Director Jade Powers, Choreographer Bethany-Terri Abrahams and MD Nicola Brazier and the whole cast for giving Eastbourne another memorable EODS show.
