This very popular musical, well known to all theatregoers, played to full houses at every performance. The show was extremely well produced, and the members of the cast were excellent, with not a weak part in the show. It got off to a brilliant start with the juniors in the workhouse. Oliver was very well played by Joseph Parker- Hartley, and his mate, the Artful Dodger, was equally well played by Archie Turner. After this great start the high standard was kept up throughout the entire show. There were many excellent performances, particularly Dan Brooks as Fagin, and Emma Greenhalgh as Nancy. They were excellent, but everybody else was equally well played. The singing was excellent, with all the soloists singing very confidently indeed, helped by an excellent sound system. The minimal scenery was ideal for the show. Alan Owens, the Musical Director had a small orchestra under him which was ideal for the show. Great credit must go to the Director, Richard Bainbridge, and the backstage staff for making this the success it was. When every seat is taken and you have people waiting for tickets every night , it proves the success the company is having in giving the audiences the show they want to see. Very well done, Northallerton.
