This was a play I hadn't come across before so it's always good to see something new. Farce is notoriously difficult to do and this company managed to pull it off although sometimes the timing could have been tighter (which is the really tricky part of farce to get right). There was applause for the set as soon as the curtain went up, portraying the dining room of a Blackpool Guest House with the focal point of a well constructed and decorated bar - great work from Ian Spashett & George Noble (set construction). Well characterised performances from all the cast centred round four ladies (the old boilers) "celebrating" a divorce at the Blackpool Guest House run by Miss Bobby a typical ex-variety singer/dancer. As usual, the programme was well set out and interesting. A one set play is obviously easier to handle but a lot of work was, as always done backstage by many helpers and as the audience were definitely up for all the innuendos, a good time was had by all.
