This may be one of the older classic musicals but when performed to this high standard it is still one not to miss. The relatively small stage area held no problems for Andrea who used all the facilities very effectively and with imagination. Paul directed stage and pit with great feeling and good pace which certainly helped to keep the momentum going throughout. There was a very strong and talented principal team led by Chris Hind with a very confident performance as Curly and Kristi Chambers with a lovely performance as Laurey, both in character at all times. Scott Walker was very good as Will Parker and Emily Stevens gave a superb all round performance as Ado Annie, such a bundle of energy! Lloyd Hawkins, Sarah Hemsall and  Matthew Jayes all gave good character performances as Jud, Aunt Eller and Ali Hakim, while the chorus provided full support vocally and dramatically. The choreography and dancing were excellent and the ballet was outstanding especially as it was performed using the actual cast principals. The good set, colourful costumes, props and lighting all added to the occasion, together with very efficient stage management. Excellent entertainment enjoyed by all who watched it, a tribute to the hard work in preparation and team work in general – it was worth it!
