A terrific set depicting a clearing in a wood on a small island reached by a stream, where the four intrepid gentlemen finished up after getting hopelessly lost during a team building weekend.

Tim Firth as the Author of this play has such a talent for the use of characters and creates people that we can relate to within his witty and clever dialogue.

A static set, which with the complexity of the various trees, shrubs, undergrowth and also water was the only set required.

It was so effective from the moment the cast appeared one by one all dripping water having swum across a lake to reach the Island. The clothing of each of the four was very wet, so they all went through the wringing out of clothing and emptying their boots which were full of water. All four then had to find dry clothes to put on which was very well coped with on stage.

A powerful cast of just four men,all very different characters, but all working for the same company in middle management within different departments.

Vince Webb playing Neville was the team leader, although he tended to fall in with the strongest feel within the group whether he agreed or not, Vince did very well  and the character was just right. This was his debut with CADS and I hope we see him in future productions.

Gary Huggins playing Gordon, the most opinionated character of the four, was superb in this part.Great dialogue and timing from Gary with some very funny situations which had to be seen to believe.

Angus played by Keith Sippitt really got into his part with the occasional spat with Gordon who took every opportunity to wind him up.I felt it one of the best characters Keith has played with CADS.

Lastly Ed Taylor as Roy the thinker and Christian in the group of four was a gentle sensitive character, deep thinking and eager to fall in with the other three.A very unexpected ending with Roy, which tied up the plot of the play.

Great credit must go to the cast and crew, especially set design and build which was excellent and great lighting and sound  added so much also to a really outstanding production.

Paul Welham as Director got the best out of all four characters and did full justice to a great comedy, which the audience including my husband and myself had a most enjoyable time watching.

Thank you for your hospitality, I look forward to “Holiday Snap” in June.
