Masqueraders performed the popular classic which follows Eliza Doolittle who is taken in by Henry Higgins who has placed a bet with Colonel Pickering in an effort to turn from a common flower girl to a lady.

The principal cast is full of talent from the smaller roles of Georgie (Chole Allen), Professor Zoltan (Chris Kavanagh) and Mrs Eynsford – Hill (Jane Udall) were very well executed.  Mrs Higgins (Karen Day) again a small role and the chemistry between Henry and Eliza worked well.

Harry(Louis Dunderdale) and Jamie (Nathan Walsh) as sidekicks to Alfred Doolittle were brilliantly played and worked well together.  They again had excellent chemistry together with Alfred P Doolittle (Colin Udall) who was perfect in the role and gave excellent performances of “A little bit of Luck” and “Get me to the Church on time”

Mrs Pearce (Louise Broadhurst) gave a lovely softness to the character and worked well with those she interacted with and together with the servants who were very well played and gave good performances. The suffering Freddy Eynsford Hill (Sam Asbury) was played excellently and the vocals and characteristics shone through.

Colonel Pickering (Alex Lewis), Henry Higgins (Richard Yates) and Eliza Doolittle (Libby Brookes) were all superbly played with excellent characteristics, accents,  singing ability and an all-round fantastic watch.  It is difficult to separate these three as they oozed talent and congratulations must go to all of them.

The remaining chorus looked as they were enjoying their various roles as this is a show where the chorus is very much needed, and they certainly gave it their all with  “Ascot Gavotte” being a particular highlight.

MTS has always been able to produce a big show in a small space and this shows set was no exception.  The lighting and sound and period costumes added to the show.  The choreography was excellent and excellently executed.

The production team was made up of several talented people.  Mike Chappell once again showed how diverse he can be as a Director.
