My first visit to Little Eaton Players, a welcome addition to the NODA fold, and many thanks for a very warm welcome. I was treated to an extremely good production of this quite well known `who-dun-it`.
There were some excellent performances, especially from Ian Humphries as the buffooning Colonel Charles Craddock, and Ann Palmer as a typical upper class society hostess. I liked Stefan Osvah as Pierre Marceau, with the `Allo Allo` french accent, and especially the performances of Sue Kirkland as Miss Joan Maple, the sleuth, and Richard Kirkland as Inspector Pratt, who turned the audience`s giggles into guffaws of laughter. His malapropisms were delivered with great skill, and a magnificent piece of ad libbing with Miss Maple when the phone `played up`, was hilarious. There were good characterisations by all the cast, with clear delivery by everyone.
The set was impressive and with good use of the limited play area, this was an excellent introduction to NODA by the Players. I look forward to the pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in January.
