On a very wet Saturday afternoon it was a treat to watch Spotlights Community Theatre doing what they do best. This all-inclusive group ensure that all the children are involved in the production on and backstage.
The backstage crew (youth) were on the ball with lighting and sound effect cues and the assistant directors (youth) had added their understanding of school, with great effect, to the production. Well done to all!
I always enjoy watching children on stage learning stagecraft through experiencing performing. All the cast were in character and moved with confidence. This production did not use mics and although in a small space some of the dialogue was lost. This is something which comes with experience and I am positive with more opportunities and confidence this will happen. I cannot single out any one person as you were all working hard and giving your best. I hope you had fun with this production as this was the emotion that was evident to the audience.
A truly youth led production is a joy and again well done to all. Onwards and upwards Spotlights. I am looking forward to your next production.
