Once again the village was entertained with an excellent Pantomime. It really was a very well rehearsed and acted Pantomime, on such a very small stage , with only have a meter of space each side of the stage, which makes every entry and exit very difficult, but they made it. The star of the show was Laura Hallet who played Billy Gosling, the village idiot. Her stage presence was excellent, and she never once stopped jumping around putting everything into her part. Very well done.  Her Mum, Mother  Goose, was also well played very well by the evergreen Michael  Dodsworth, who has being playing the Dame in many Pantomimes for decades. His many glamorous costumes were delightful, and he is a great inspiration to the junior members.  His daughter, Jill, was very confidently played by Kathryn Laverick, and Colin was well played by Heidi Bradley.  Andy Cunningham played the Squire very well indeed for such a young man. He had the authority of a typical Country Squire. His two henchmen, Bill Bumpkin and Ben Bogtrotter, were played by sisters Louise and Fiona Baker respectively.  They were excellent and put everything into their parts.  Of course we have to have a Goose, and Priscilla was well played by 6ft Sebastian Bradley, who managed to enter and exit very well considering his size.

King Proper Gander was played by Ray  Moores,  and his Queen Goosegog by his daughter Natalie. The one person keeping everything going was Fairy Fortune, delightfully played by Hayley Bradley, whilst the person trying to stop everything was Demon Discontent dramatically played by Lisa Cowley, whoreceived the usual amount of boos. The Chorus were in good voice and supported the principals very well.  They were largely a young chorus team and performed very well. The stage settings were excellent, being all hand painted by the Players. Well done John Hallett and Dave Farrow.  The costumes were very colourful indeed. Once again I have to congratulate Paul Laverick for his one man orchestra on his wonderful Organ, the sounds he produces are great.  An excellent night’s entertainment well worth while putting up with the weather.  Very well done Brompton.
