This was a most enjoyable and well crafted production, the pantomime was tackled with great enthusiasm in true Brighouse fashon. A story with a moral to it, Mother Goose was about to be turned out of her home for non-payment of rent, and the good Fairy sends her Priscilla the golden egg-laying goose. Then along comes the Demon who offers to make her young and beautiful if she trades in the goose for a visit to the magic pool. In the end she realises her mistake and reverts to her old self in exchange for the return of Priscilla. Mother Goose, (Andrew Mann), was only off the stage for brief periods, making the part his own, returning to the stage each time with a new costume and sporting extremely long eyelashes. Everybody in the audience fell in love with Priscilla the Goose, (Pete Forsythe), who gave a faultless performance honking and nodding in all the right places. Eggs-cellent comedy from Billy, (John Murphy), he had a great rapport with his audience, with oodles of traditional pantomime business. Nobody could have played the evil green Demon Discontent, (Robert Davison), better as he thrived on all the hisses and boos directed at him. There were lots of well drilled dances from the Senior dancers and the little Goslings. Lovely colourful costumes throughout the production, and I must mention the excellent scenery, it was great this year. Congratulations to all involved.
