Performing to a sell out audience, this Dave Crump production had everything you needed. A goodie, a baddie and an over the top dame.
Mrs. Cheeks’ runs Cheekys’ Chicken Farm but the hens are not laying. The Owner of the land, Sir Robin Steele threatens to close down her farm and take the chickens for himself. Will her son and daughter, assisted by a fairy, be able to save the farm. You need to see this panto and find out.
Leading this talented company was Dave Crump as Dame Ophelia Cheeks (Mother Goose) who was well supported by Bradley Reynolds and Lucy Watkins as her son and daughter Bobby and Rosie. During the second scene we heard to noise of a familiar police box arriving (Very cleaver) and out stepped Doctor Why (Simon Baker) and his assistant Wanda Why (Robyn Klein-Christoffels) who played the roles really well. Wanda’s love interest, Willie Makeit, was played by Deb Crump, great stage presence and singing voice. The comedy element in the show came from Richard Pritchett ad Stu Etherington as Mr. Sage and Mr. Onion, who really worked well together. The fairy was played by Poppy Rutter and Sir Robin Steele was played by Christian Truman. The audience really enjoyed cheering and booing these characters. The Goose who laid the golden eggs was played by Beth Campbell and she must have been hot in the costume. The ensemble worked well together and did not just walk on, oh there’s a song coming on, then walk off. They seemed to wander on and stay for most of the scene.
Scenery looked good and the costumes were outstanding.
Congratulations to the whole company with this production
