This version of the traditional Mother Goose was written by former members of Forfar Musical Society Tommy Baxter and Neil Stewart. Every member of the cast, adults and children alike had named parts and the appropriate costumes of Fairy tale characters such as Little Boy Blue, Little Bo Peep, Tinkerbell and Humpty Dumpty, to name but a few. The story was base in a TV studio with the villain of the piece, Damien Discontent, ably played and sung by Craig Keable, doing his best to upset everyone - and almost succeeding, but he had to deal with the indomitable Mother Goose, in the person of Dave Mitchell, who carried the extensive dialogue with his usual aplomb, keeping the audience entertained. The romantic couple, Jack and Jill (Terri Roberts and Louise Rioch) were in top form as the traditional love-birds which every panto requires as were the comedy duo of Little Miss Muffet (Rhoda Burke) and Georgie Porgy (Darren Gill)  who supplied much of the comedy of the piece. Joan Mitchell was a most convincing Priscilla the Goose, with a very nice singing voice. Iona Allan as Damien's glamorous sidekick was also in excellent voice and completing the leading line-up was the very attractive Blue Fairy (Lisa Hastie) but the show-stoppers without a doubt were her two charming Mini Fairies Aimee Cumming and Abi Ewen who had the audience in the palms of their tiny hands. Add to this an excellent band and a beautifully drilled English Garden dance sequence and an excellent evening was enjoyed by all. Well done!
