The concept for this show was an inspired choice especially for the time of year and was written and directed by Nik Ellis. The selection of music was excellent and it is impossible to single out any soloists because they were all first class.
The singing throughout was strong and confident whether it was in solos, duets, trios, ensembles or full chorus. It was well supported by the band under the direction of Fiona Ball. The team of choreographers had worked hard with the cast and the response from them was very gratifying. I was exhausted just watching!
This setting wouldn’t work very well without appropriate costumes, scenery, make up and lighting and here they were all stunning. I must also compliment the technical team in getting a good balance between the band and singers.
I must mention the amazing puppet operated during the singing of Jack’s Lament from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The whole production moved on at a good pace and by the end I certainly felt as though I had been entertained.
