This is a perfect seasonal family treat based on the film of the same name.
The story follows a Mother and Daughter in the lead up to Christmas when everyone else is filled with the magic of the season, these two are reluctant to believe in Father Christmas. Kris Kringle however has no trouble believing in him, he is him, but can a court prove it?
As always with this group, there was an energetic and large ensemble comprising enthusiastic and well rehearsed children. The stage was filled with colour and well choreographed dancing in all of the big cast numbers.
The casting of Kris Kringle is spot on as Kieran Palmer oozes the spirit of santa, he is quietly confident but never pushy. Emma Davis making her first appearance for YOG captured the slightly cynical career mum Doris Walker well, the pairing of her and Amelia Ault as Susan, her daughter worked well. Amelia was a delight to watch.
Despite having few songs that an audience would know and hum along to, this production was a lovely prelude to Christmas that could melt even the most cynical of hearts.
