The revival of Me and My Girl came in 1984 with a new libretto by Stephen Fry. The show after playing 3.303 performances was then released for amateur companies to perform. With plenty of chorus work and a lot of principal parts, it's an ideal show for amateur companies.
TFO is a new group to District 8, this only, its second show in the district and the show Me and My Girl a first for Stourbridge Town Hall.
Richard Cooper bounced on the stage as the chirpy cockney barrow boy Bill Snibson, who inherits the title and estates of Hareford, Rebecca Bate matched him beautifully as his girlfriend 'Sally Smith'. They were supported by an enthusiastic chorus. A great rendition of the Lambeth Walk. Support came from John Clay as 'Sir John' and Di Hingley as the' Duchess of Dene' who worked well together with good singing from both these characters.
The rest of the characters together with good costumes, sets and orchestra sent the audience home happy and singing the Lambeth Walk as they left the theatre.
