This is one of my all time favourite musicals and this was an extremely good example of it. It is full of corny jokes, silly situations and wonderful songs. The audience loved it!
This was a very strong cast ably led by the irrepressible Chris Flint (Bill) and Francesca Breeze (Sally). Equally impressive were Kelly Hunter (Lady Jacqueline) and Jamie Jones (Gerald). Steve Thornhill was ideally suited to the role of Sir John as was Sarah Diamond in the role of The Duchess. Brian Washington added to the comedy with some fine timing as Mr Parchester. There was excellent support from Louise Hewitt (Lady Battersby), Matt Ralphs (Lord Battersby), Brett Dewsbury (Charles) and Gerry Hindley (Sir Jasper).
The singing throughout was confident and strong from principals and chorus and there were some innovative pieces of staging backed up by slick choreography, lighting and a good band conducted by Ian Room.
Well done to everyone involved!
