To celebrate their 40th anniversary the company chose to put on this delightful show full of well known songs and witty dialogue. The hard work put in, and enjoyment felt by the cast, shone through from the opening “Weekend at Hareford” to the “The Lambeth Walk” finale. Andy Hurst (Bill Snibson) was a joy to watch and he was well matched by Sharon Macleod (Sally Smith). Kerry Russell (Lady Jacqueline) and Derek Brown (The Hon Gerald) brought much laughter to the audience, especially Lady Jacqueline’s “You Would If You Could” number with Bill. Lynda Wood (Maria, Duchess of Dene) played the strong matriarchal character well, finally showing her softer side in her final scene with Sir John (Jamie Stone). Strong support was given by Iain McKenzie (Herbert Parchester), Ian Shearer (Lord Battersby), Elspeth Sim (Lady Battersby) and Gerry Revie (Charles the Butler). The company singing, as usual with this company, was excellent and their Lambeth Walk dance was entered into with gusto. Thank you The Garrick Singers for another enjoyable evening and here’s to your next 40 years!
