This was certainly a “feel good” show, in fact a “feel very good show”, with an abundance of talent and lots of fun. It was well prepared and very well directed, making good use of all the facilities available and also capturing the spirit of the piece. The musical side was also well prepared and nicely performed with fine interpretation and a good balance between stage and pit. On stage we had the strongest team of principals I have seen for a long time , working so well together and not a weak link amongst them. David Egan was great as Bill Snibson, and he was partnered by Jane Wright, a superb Sally. Theresa and Brendon Stafford were perfect in the roles of Maria and Sir John as indeed were Garry Richardson and Carolyn Frith with lovely character performances as Gerald and Jacqueline. Another performance of note was Alexander Stafford, a great Parchester and one to look out for in future. All on stage played their part in the success, musically and dramatically. The choreography was effective and well performed especially the tap routine. The set was excellent, with efficient back stage work keeping up the momentum. Fine costumes and good lighting added to the visual presentation. Great entertainment showing off the talented performers and production team to the full.
