This group of youngsters took us on a Magical Journey through a variety of pop, rock, country and gospel music. This varied programme was often daring and challenging but created opportunities to show the talent in the company. Matching the good singing was well disciplined choreography, all supported by colourful costumes from cowboys, to animals to fiery leotards. The whole evening was ably compered by Nan McDonald. In the first half, musical highlights for me were the combination of songs in Popular, the unusual arrangement of Over the Rainbow sung by the younger girls and Autumn Leaves sung maturely and movingly by Claire Gibson. All That Jazz was well sung and tap-danced by Celine Beveridge and Emma Byrne and a confident Kieran West and others gave an entertaining I Just Can’t Wait to be King. The second half took off with Panic Cord sung well by Carla Reid which was followed by Ben Whigham and Ross McDonald on guitar in Johnny B Goode and Kieran & Ross in Fresh Prince. The stage exploded with movement in Hoedown Throwdown and Cotton Eye Joe with splendid break dancing by Amaara & Qaila Sarwar.  This was interspersed by a nicely sung duet of Mine from Ashley Blair and Holly Fleming, soloists Morven Drysdale with Undermine and Claire and others in Aint No Mountain High Enough. The show climaxed royally with powerful company singing in O Happy Day and We Are The Champions. A magical evening indeed.
