Wow what a fabulous principal cast, accompanied by an equally supportive large ensemble including an enviable 14 males (something many other companies can only dream about).
The key character of Rita O’Grady was played superbly by Anna Beesley, who the audience immediately identified with. Ed Blann played her husband Eddie ,they were very believable as a married couple, their singing voices blended well together resulting in some outstanding musical numbers , I loved ‘The Letter’ sang by Ed
Tracey Scott was hilarious as the straight talking Beryl who has some of the best lines EVER, it needed someone really special to deliver them with aplomb.Supported by the other workers (Milly Owen) Clare (Karina Harris)Sandra (Emily Fouracre) Connie (Gilly Harris) they made a formidable group.I must add one of my favourite numbers of the evening was ‘Same Old Story’ sang beautifully by Gilly.
Catherine Greenway and Stait were both entertaining as Barbara Castle and Harold Wilson.
Huge congratulations to all concerned, I know from personal experience how it has been such a challenge to keep societies motivated and together through covid. Made in Dagenham is proof that by working together it can be done.
Reminiscent of the note from Paul in the programme, your production truly was a powerful and inspiring true story.
The old saying goes ‘your only as good as your last production’ I personally feel this is the best QMTS production I have had the pleasure of reviewing , so thank you for giving me a really easy job.
