Mad about Musicals
Theatre 4 All
22/6/25
Theatre 4 All is the quintessential community theatre group, its popularity has flourished over the last twelve months. There is a full house at Neston Town Hall of parents, grandparents, siblings and enthusiastic musical theatre lovers, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Musical Director Nikki Ruscoe supported by the multi-talented trio of musicians, led the fifteen strong chorus in celebration of popular songs from iconic musicals.Beginning with a medley from the rip-roaring show Oklahoma. ‘Oklahoma’, full chorus, ‘People Will Say We’re in Love’, and a personal favourite, ‘I’m Just a Girl That Can’t Say No’. We then meet delightful seven-year-old Poppy, her first ever time on stage with ‘Candyman’ from the musical Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. A West Side Story medley followed, ‘Can’ Help Loving That Man of Mine’, ‘Something Was Missing’. Time for the youngsters once more, ‘Maybe’ sung by Annie, then the Children’s chorus, Morgan, Amber, Orlando, Poppy, Ava, Charlotte and Annie sang the wonderful song ‘Hard Knock Life’. April & Barry with the moody ‘Easy Street ‘followed all from the musical Annie. The children’s chorus were a joy and entertained us once again in act one with ‘Consider Yourself’ from the musical Oliver. Thenardier & Madame Thenardier Barry & Julie joined by the full chorus complete act one with the rousing ‘Master of the House’ from the longest running musical in the West End Les Miserable.
In the second act the song choices were personal favourites of the fifteen strong chorus. Barry & chorus ‘Jesus Christ Super Star’, Eric, ‘Some Enchanted Evening’, Annie ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’, Binny, ‘Something Wonderful’, Jennifr, ‘Somewhere That’s Green’, Zoe, ‘Tell Me It’s Not True’, Charlotte, ‘Naughty’, Yvonne. Eric, ‘All I Ask of You’, Jennifer ‘Fine Fine Line’, Zoe, ‘She used t be Mine’, Allison & April, ‘All That Jazz’, Kathy, ‘Wouldn’t it be Lovely’, Sophie, ‘I Could Have Danced All Night’, Eric, ‘Get Me To The Church On Time’, and to end this musical extravaganza full chorus, ‘Medley from Wicked’, and the Children’s chorus knew every word!! Magic.
This was a heartwarming feel-good concert from Theatre 4 All, an extremely talented all-inclusive popular community group. There is universal enthusiasm and support within this society it is a joy to see. Long may it continue Theatre 4 All.
