From the dramatic opening scene, due to the fabulous costumes by Carol Stevenson, set design Enid Strutt and lighting by Colin Martin, this “Macbeth” is a splendid production! Every “lead” is strong and a thrilling stage presence by all of them. Macbeth was gripping and wonderful from beginning to end, which is not an easy feat, given the story line.

Kent Opera never fail (in my eyes) to please their audiences.Terry Bates at the helm again for this production: he always has his chorus work the stage and his grouping is just a superb. I have yet to see a production of Kentish Opera that I can criticize. Terry Bates and his crew, including the wonderful orchestra conducted by Robyn Sevastos, all make up an unmissable evening of opera. We should call his team the Famous Five…Terry, Robyn, Carol, Enid and Colin.
