Love Songs Live

A well performed, and appropriate concert of love songs for the Valentines weekend.  Accompanied by a three piece live combo the cast entertained us with a selection of Love Songs old and new, such that there really was something for everything. 

I always think concerts are better when accompanied by live music – and in this case the accompaniment was excellent and extremely well balanced – never competing with the singers. Many many congratulations and well done!

The concert was performed to blacks with a smoke effect which was effective without being intrusive – no mean feat.  I was also impressed with the ‘costumes’ the whole thing just looked really good. 

Unfortunately there were a couple of ‘sound gremlins’ (I am beginning to think they must come with me?!) soloist microphones not being turned on – and the balance was not quite right when more than one person was on the stage as on several occasions the ‘backing singers’ were considerably louder than the soloist.

On a very personal level, I would have liked some form of introduction, or just something to break up the songs a little, that said, I must congratulate all the singers for some excellent facial expressions, and in the main really great diction, combined with appropriate movement.  The show was very slick, and moved from piece to piece with a great pace.

Many congratulations to all concerned for a most entertaining and apposite evenings entertainment.
