An excellent show choice for this society which they pulled out all the stops on.
Very well cast with some members stepping up into principal roles and with a strong line up of smaller roles and chorus it was one of the best shows they have performed.
The Trio of Chiffon, Ronette and Crystal played by Jessica Hewett,Sam Slim & Katie Barnett gave some very tight harmonies, and looked so good on stage with lots of energy.
Angie Porter as Audrey was lovely, with a gentle charm in her role and a very pleasant singing voice.Together with Seymour played and sung so well by Drew Welham they made both characters very real.
Charlie Vaughan as Mr Mushnik dashed about the stage, suitably energetic until he met his untimely end, and created a strong character.Little did he know the fate to befall him.
Orin The Dentist ( a super character to play) did very well playing this crazy man, especially with his laughing gas scene which was hilarious. Again he met his end via Audrey 2 unexpectedly.
Two other vital roles were that of the voice of Audrey 2 and the Puppetter, played so expertly by Steve Church and Steve Salmon.
A terrific voice and interpretation from Steve C and Steve S did wonders with the animation of Audrey 2 who became so real it felt very alive.
I think that all the principals deserve huge credit for the standard of this show and for the “together” feel which spread through the entire cast.
Other roles and chorus work fitted perfectly to bring the show to a “STAND OUT” production with a terrific set, a lot of attention to detail with props and costumes and some super accompaniment from Hector and the “Flower Bed Band” who totally got the balance and sound just perfect.Well done to you all.
A very hard working Production team headed by David Thompson as Director,Hector Moyes as Musical Director and Emily Aldis as Choreographer supported by so many important backstage teams which are the backbone of all the shows, unseen by the audience working so hard to attain the great standard we had in this show.
A very busy schedule ahead for CMTS with a Charity Concert then leading up to the Pantomime “Cinderella”.
Many congratulations to you all,it was a pleasure to watch the show.
