Ribchester Amateur Theatrical Society had decided to use a script written by William Thomas for their first production of 2015. This turned out to be an excellent decision, The script was original, creative and innovative and William Thomas has used his many interests in Literature and Films to create a very well written piece,
The local references to people and places in the Ribchester area brought a freshness to the whole feeling of the Pantomime, The cast and production team certainly did justice to his work and showed their enthusiasm and dedication to ensure the audience would enjoy a great evening of fun and entertainment. Dave Procter as Miss Felicity Bakewell-Tart was outstanding. He portrayed his role with confidence and his rapport with the audience was just what was needed. He has great stage presence and also the best legs I have seen on a Pantomime Dame. Martin Smith the Right Miserable Mayor obviously enjoyed his part, especially the dancing. Wolfie, Steven Johnson and Young Wolf, Paul Bell worked well together with just the correct level of scariness and intimidation. Tony Woolmington as Grandma showed, once again, his comic timing and experience.
Costumes, make up and props were good and the set was well designed and constructed, all scene changes moving smoothly. All this coupled with a good choice of music and effects helped to make this another success for this talented company. Thank you for your warm welcome and congratulations on the recent N.O.D.A. award.
