It’s Panto Time again, and this year’s production opened it with a bang! A warm welcome awaited us. This was Little Red Riding Hood bang on trend for 2016. Superb costumes as usual thanks to Caro Prescott, some talented youngsters and as usual the funniest of Dames always played superbly by Paul Leech. This year he was Ophelia Bapps, yes the Baker!! who having been unable to pay her bills was being evicted by three brokers men!  So many brilliant dresses and his innuendoes kept coming! Red Riding Hood (Rosie) was Alex Vobe, who sang her solo beautifully.

The hero woodcutter was Catherine Dale who played the principal boy with gusto! I thought one of the stars of the piece was Allan Rogers as Xanthus the Wolf. His costume was a grey tail coat and he had a grey trilby, with his grey beard and cunning smile, and that wonderful hooooowl” Well done to him. Other parts were all well cast.

Great  scene was at the Bakery which although was very funny was made funnier by the slippery floor which was, or was not intentional!

A most enjoyable evening’s entertainment. I hope there were larger audiences for the rest of the run, it deserved it.
