Normally this society’s pantos are very enjoyable and of a high standard – and this one was no exception with boos and hisses from the packed house from the very first entrance of The Big Bad Wolf played by Tim Drage.  A combination of experience and youth worked well to provide us with a super evening’s entertainment.

Leading the way was Ian Thompson (he also Directed) as Granny and he really is an excellent Dame, never stopping, with new costumes and wigs for every entrance and bringing everyone into the fun.  Superb!  Rosie Thompson was really good as Mary and Kirsty Harrison gave a commanding showing as Jason Greenwood.

And they weren’t let down by the younger members of the cast either with some strong performances given by Hannah Bacon as Red Riding Hood, Olivia Thompson as Fiona the Forest Fairy, George Coubrough (Tom), Wesley Andrews (Sammy Slurry) and Jake Baines (Simon Swill).  I’ve mentioned some of these names previously and their continued growth as performers is lovely to see.

The smaller roles were handled very well and there were some good musical routines by a sizeable chorus.  The set was colourful, the costumes were great, what more do you want?
