This compilation show was produced as part of the 65th anniversary celebrations of the company. It was a show of two halves – the first of highlights from the shows performed by the company over the last 65 years, the second of numbers from shows (not yet!) performed by them. The first half opened with the full company on stage for “Lullaby of Broadway” and closed with a beautifully choral “Climb Every Mountain” segueing into a wonderfully, energetic “Spread The Love Around” from Sister Act. In between we were entertained by another 11 numbers. The highlights for me being a nostalgic rendition of “I Remember It Well” by Andrew Begg and Cath Munro, a wonderfully heartfelt “I Hate Men” by Joanne Peacock, a beautifully harmonised "Falling Out Of Love Can Be Fun” by Victoria Cowan/Emma Davie/Millie Begg/Joanne Peacock and a sensitively poignant “You Walk With Me” by Matthew McBrier supported by Ryan Peacock. The second half opened with the full company’s rendition of “The Stars Look Down” (Billy Elliot) and continued with numbers from Cabaret, Kinky Boots, Next to Normal, Beautiful the Carol King Musical, Oliver! and Book of Mormon. The highlights for me in this part of the show were the duet “I Will Never Leave You” (Sideshow) by Laura Burnett and Katie Green, Rhonda Scott’s “Losing My Mind” (Follies) and a superbly funny and camp rendition by Ryan Peacock of “You’ll Be Back” (Hamilton). A taster of the company’s next production was given by the full company in “Anything Goes” followed by the hugely enjoyable “Abba Medley” (Mama Mia). The company was elegantly costumed and sang and moved well to the hard working 5 piece onstage band. A digital wall provided a colourful backdrop changing to images appropriate to each number. As well as providing an excellent evening’s entertainment the company were continuing with their support of the community by donating the profits from the show to a local charity. Well done to everyone involved.
