Let me entertain you

This concert was titled ‘Let me entertain you’ and my goodness, this musical extravaganza did exactly that. The Senior Players (aged 13 – 18 years) opened with songs from ‘Our day Out’ and their rendition of ‘Another brick in the wall’ was so full of expression, it was amazing. They were followed by adult members of Langtoft Players who delivered a very varied but well balanced programme which included romantic ballads, rock anthems, country & western numbers, patriotic songs, songs from the war years , Beatles songs, songs from musical shows and several comedy numbers – all performed to an exceedingly high standard, whilst being appropriately costumed. Particularly impressive was the blending of voices in their delivery of a selection of ‘Queen’ numbers. The hallmark of their extremely talented MD Andrew Clingo was much in evidence during this show, in that performers were provided with superb accompaniments and looked and sounded as if they were singing specially for each member of the audience. This was a well organised team effort and much credit must go to Yvonne Gibbons who produced an excellent show which brought great delight to a very appreciative gathering. Brilliant entertainment, containing an abundance of talent, performed with panache!
