On attending the concert, I was warmly welcomed by the front of house staff to what was a wonderful night of musical treats. Twenty three well dressed, enthusiastic cast members transported the audience on a lyrical journey which covered old favourites from the past and a selection of new songs that through the passage of time will become old favourites. The chorus sang well and at all times harmonies were beautiful. Solos were performed to the usual high standard which I have come to expect from the company. Personal highlights for me included ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow (Carly Slamin), an ‘Oliver’ selection (company), ‘Candy Man’ (Girls sextet), a ‘Jersey Boys’ selection (Boys quintet) and ‘Reeling and Rockin’ (Boys trio). As compere, Lesley Smith provided great background information regarding the content of the programme which added to what was a most enjoyable evening’s entertainment, brought to an end by the company singing “What The World Needs Now”, a very appropriate choice in these somewhat troubled times. Well done to one and all!
