This was an excellent production from the society. There were some very good solo performances, terrific chorus ensembles and dance routines.

There were two outstanding performances, particularly. Becca Milligam, playing her first leading role, as would be lawyer Elle Woods was very very good, and commanded the stage from opening to finale. Kimberley Fisher was a brilliant Paulette, and her performance of ‘Ireland’, was for me the highlight of the evening. Jack Pike, playing Warner and Adam MacCreedy, playing Emmett, were both very good in the leading male roles. Ryan O Hagan was very comical in his dual cameo roles, and I particularly enjoyed his Irish dancing. In fact there wasn’t a weak link in a very strong principal cast.   Sadly I don’t have enough room to mention everybody individually, and for that I apologise. I enjoyed the dance routines, very well done to Adam and Linzi, for putting them together, and for keeping the show moving at a good pace. Special mention must go to artistic director Daniel MacCreedy, he certainly got the best from his principals and chorus. He also made the most of the comedy, in the show, and even had time to play a cameo role in the performance, well done Daniel.

Mark Hazzard led the orchestra very well, sound and lighting were generally very good throughout the performance, which isn’t always the case with any musical theatre. Special mention must go to the backstage crew, I thought they did a fantastic job. They had some enormous scenery trucks to manoeuvre, but they did it with aplomb. Well done to every one of them.

This show was a very good evening of musical theatre, and congratulations to everyone concerned, and as always the society’s hospitality was exemplary.
