Legally Blonde follows the story of Elle Woods’ quest to win back her ex boyfriend Warner, by following him to Harvard Law School.

YOG is filled with so much talent, the principle cast consists of Jessie Heard as Brooke who opens Act 2 with  ”Whipped into Shape”. It takes a lot of skill to be able to do a high energy dance number and sing, which Jessie performed with ease.  Rachel Fisher took the role of Paulette who gave a wonderful performance and the audience was certainly entertained by the very powerful rendition of “Ireland”.  Maeve Dolan as Enid and Jess Doran as Vivienne, although slightly smaller roles, brought life to their characters and had lovely voices during their solo parts.

Nathan Routledge as Callahan and Damian Edwards as Warner are two very talented Actors and had very well executed solo numbers.

The trio of Libby Goodman as Pilar, Megan Hine as Serena and Chloe McDonald as Margot, friends of Elle and the voices in her head! From the beginning of “Omigod You Guys” these three maintained a very perky, upbeat and exuberant performance during the whole show which is not an easy job to do.

Luke Bingham as Emmett gave an excellent performance and had chemistry with Libby Simpkins (Elle Woods), a particular highlight was his performance of “Chip on my Shoulder”.

The lead role of Elle Woods portrayed by Libby Simpkins was outstanding and was full of energy from start to finish which can be difficult to maintain as she didn’t get much of a break! However Libby did not falter and portrayed a range of emotions as the show progressed the performance enhanced with musical numbers an excellent performance.

There were small roles for members of the chorus and all did well, particular mention must go to Ashley Clifford (Kyle) and Matthew Sweet (Carlos) who made everyone laugh on their appearance and certainly knew how to work an audience! And of course Indie as Bruiser and Pablo as Rufus the dogs rounded off the cast.

Congratulations must go to Craig Garner not only Artistic Director but Choreographer two very demanding jobs but both executed to very high standard.

The production was very well choreographed with well executed dance routines.  The whole company performed with so much energy and brought life to the stage.

Although some minor sound issues this did not detract from the overall quality.

The music, costumes, set and lighting all added to a production that you didn’t want to end.
