The story of the show is centred around sorority girl Elle Woods, dumped by her ex-boyfriend, Warner Huntington 3rd, and then swapped fashion merchandising for law by enrolling at Harvard Law School with intent to win Warner back. Playing the demanding role of Elle, Nicole Duthie brought all the necessary qualities to what was an outstanding performance. As the charming but very self-absorbed ex-boyfriend Warner, Cameron Black providing a first-class performance. Vikki McIntyre ably portrayed the unlucky-in-love Paulette Buonufonte. Other great performances were provided by Alan McIntyre as fellow law student Emmett Forrest; Eve Walker, Maisie Elloitt, and Megan Daly as sorority sisters Pillar, Serena and Margot. Andrew Jamieson made an excellent pompous and manipulative Professor Callahan and Holly Marshall was well cast as the stuck-up, wealthy, smart driven law student Vivienne Kensington. Amy Allan brought great energy to the character Brook Wyndham as the exercise video star accused of murder who Elle presented the defence case for and Jamie McCaw provided a fabulously gay characterisation in his portrayal of Nikos Argitakos, Brooke’s pool boy. Laura Murray-Darroch and David Ralston played Elle’s Mum and Dad and Alistair Morton was appropriately cast as Kyle the smooth-talking physically-fit UPS dude. Special mention must also be made to Bailey, Floss and Autumn, the dogs featured in the production. The full company collectively blended together with inspiring enthusiasm. With great singing, drama and sharp choreography, this was another great production provided by LAMS which the production team and all involved must be proud of.
