A fast moving, lively and full-on energetic production obviously enjoyed by the company.

The production team pulled out all the stops to capitalise on the Threshold reputation for the younger and very dedicated and energetic membership, also the training in house with recognised ‘assistants’ in the departments, this has to be good for the future. Director Dan Rayner, MD Rob Goodrich with Band Leader Artemis Read, and the new young Choreographer Dan Elliott with that special spark for this show, all lead the company well.

Those ‘Delta-Nu’ sisters were the backbone of this production, they were always there with their amazing energy and fast routines and great vocals and all the costume changes, a force to be reckoned with in their slick dance movements and perpetual presence, with Margot, Pilar and Serena as the leaders, this team of eight were amazing and this show was a great dance routine from beginning to end.

As the male good-looking supposed hero with song and dance skills, Alex Green had all the qualifications for this role in a smooth fashion, not good relations with Elle, but calm and prepared in the new relationship with Vivienne from Izzy Cutler of nice voice and the brown bob.

Strong, strict and demanding, Nick Bird was in his element as Prof Callahan with his students. And as Brooke, Krissi Kitson shone in the gym routine and acted up well pre- and during the court room scene.

What a voice and personality, Charley Smith as Paulette was something to listen to in great pleasure with her Irish air, to enjoy the empathy in her acting and relationship with Elle, and to smile at her ‘bend and snap’, and with Sam Watkinson, to wonder at the Irish dance, a performance very worthy.

As Emmett, Thom Guttridge had a sympathy evident to his fellows, a strong demand level of Elle, a smooth vocal and calm manner to encourage, working well with all the team.

And to the title role, Elle of the long blonde tresses changing her appearance and persona. This was a big role with the full vocals out front, those energetic dance routines, the acting skills  needed for the relationships good and bad, showing her emotions throughout in all scenes, and the wearing of the ‘pink’, what a role.

And in spite of all the electricity generated on stage by all this activity, the hearts stolen by the tiny Bruiser who was so laid back that sleeping through the numbers whilst draped on the leading lady seemed the norm; and not to forget the black curly loving the treats Rufus, never act with animals they say!

The show a reflection on all the assets of the company: a real team effort coming up with goods of song and dance, energy and pizzazz, a good evening entertainment.
